Steps to Clear Your Credential
District Salary Advancement Credits
Optional University Salary Credits
- After successful completion of the San Diego Unified Induction Program you will be mailed two documents to the address you provided on the night of your exit presentation:
- Year 2 or ECO transcript
- Verification of Completion form
- Review the Verification of Completion form to make sure your name, employee ID, and the type of credential(s) are correct. (If not, please contact our office.)
- Contact your assigned credential specialist and make an appointment to complete the recommendation process.

- Take the following to your scheduled appointment:
- Verification of Completion form
- Your social security number (memorized or written down)
- Credit card information (can also use debit card with Visa or MasterCard logo or a prepaid card offered by banks, grocery stores, and most retailers)
- Your credential specialist will verify you have completed all requirements.
- You will complete the online recommendation process at your appointment, and be charged $102.50 by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing for each credential you are clearing.
District Salary Advancement Credits
- All San Diego Unified Induction Program transcripts are forwarded directly to the Certificated Salary Specialist in Human Resources. You do not need to submit your induction transcript.
- Should the credits you earn cause you to move up a salary grade, the increase will be effective with your first paycheck in 2016-2017.
Optional University Salary Credits
- You may purchase additional salary credits or apply credits towards a masters degree with your ONE choice of several universities.
- Brandman University and Point Loma University offer salary credits at a discounted rate.
- University of Phoenix, Brandman University, and Point Loma University waive credits for teachers who have completed induction with us.
- It is possible that other universities will waive credits as well. Do not hesitate to ask the university of your choice.
- The process for each university can be found on our induction website at: http://www.sandiegoinduction.net/university-credits.html. Or, go to our main page at www.sandiegoinduction.net, select “Resources & Links,” then “University Credits.”
- Follow the directions provided by the university of your choice.
- To receive salary credits for university credits, submit your official transcripts to Eileen Sandifer in Human Resources Room 1241. Contact: esandifer@sandi.net; (619) 725-8042. You may only receive salary credits from one university.
